2024 YSLL Student  Speaker Application

We are excited to announce the recruitment of student presentation speakers for the upcoming Youth STEM Learning & Leadership Forum (YSLL), scheduled for Earth Day - April 21, 2024—at UCI. This unique opportunity is designed for high school students who are passionate about sharing their sustainability initiatives and showcasing their ongoing STEM projects to industry leaders and the local community. The application deadline is March 25, 2024.

 

Required Criteria for Applicants

  • Grade Level 10-12

  • Minimum 3.2 GPA

  • Demonstrated achievement in one of the following fields:

    • Earth & Space Science (Humanity’s Future in the Universe)

    • Health & Life Sciences (Sustainability, Robotics, and AI in Healthcare)

    • Engineering & AI (Sustainable Energy and the Evolution of Human Mobility)

  • Have engaged in research on your topic, positively impacting your community

  • Leadership experience with excellent communication and presentation skills

    • You and your peers are invited to present your research as a group; however, only the team leader is required to complete this form​

 Expectations

  • Commitment to pre-event collaboration with Professors and event organizers

  • In-person participation on the event day, April 21, 2024

  • Attendance at an in-person rehearsal the week of the event

  • Submission of bio and headshot for the event brochure
