All-Earth Citizens Foundation Supports the Groundbreaking "Message in a Bottle" Initiative
The All-Earth Citizens Foundation (AEC) congratulates the first publication of an ambitious "Message in a Bottle – An Update to the Golden Record" project, a cosmic endeavor led by Dr. Jonathan H. Jiang of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). This project, inspired by the 1977 Voyager missions, aims to redefine humanity's narrative to the cosmos and foster global unity.
The MIAB initiative, also backed by the Interstellar Foundation and its founder Nick Searra, seeks to chronicle the human epic, encapsulating our scientific, artistic, and cultural triumphs in a message intended for potential extraterrestrial entities and future generations. It represents a significant evolution from the Voyager era, embodying the technological and societal advancements of the past fifty years.
Dr. Jiang's team faces the challenge of conceptualizing an audience vastly different from ourselves, considering various scenarios including the possibility that we might be the only inhabitants of the observable universe. The project's inaugural paper, titled "Objectives and Key Content of the Message," outlines its dual mission and emphasizes the importance of global collaboration.
In line with its mission to engage and educate, the AEC is organizing student activities to contribute to the MIAB project. These activities include a video competition, encouraging young minds to express their vision of humanity's message to the stars. This competition not only allows students to participate in this historic endeavor but also fosters a sense of global community and shared responsibility towards our planet.
Nick Searra highlights the project's dual purpose, stating, "We are not just sending a message to the stars but also creating a dialogue among ourselves, exploring what it means to be alive in this vast universe.”
The AEC invites individuals and students worldwide to contribute their perspectives, ensuring that the final message is a rich tapestry of human culture. This “cosmic time capsule,” intended for deep space exploration and archival preservation on Earth, aspires to be a lasting testament to human existence.

"Through MIAB, we aim to transmit a message across the stars, uniting and inspiring our species, reminding us of our shared home in the cosmos," says Dr. Jiang, encapsulating the spirit of this interstellar endeavor.
